'Tis A Pirate's Life For Me!

Nintendo® Europe (http://www.nintendo-europe.com)

"Grab an eye-patch, parrot and pointy hat and set sail for sword-fighting adventure in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, landing on the Wii console and Nintendo DS.

Both the Nintendo DS and Wii games closely follow the storyline of the second and third instalments in the swashbuckling motion picture series. Players take on the rolls of Elizabeth Swann, Will Turner and the eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow as they fight to prevent Jack’s past from catching up with him.

The Wii version of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End puts the sword in players’ hands! When a player makes a slashing motion with the Wii Remote, his on-screen character launches a swinging attack on the scallywags standing in the way. At other times, you’ll need to follow on-screen prompts during cinematic sequences, to make Jack perform the moves like only he could! If the player doesn’t follow the on-screen prompt, it’s curtains for Captain Jack and his mates. Among all the fighting, Captain Jack manages to make his brand of humour shine through all the fighting – which is always good for a few chuckles when you least expect it…

Set sail for 16 levels of 3D action in the Nintendo DS edition of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. The impressive level design challenges players and their platforming and sword-fighting skills. In sword-fighting boss battles, players make motions with the stylus to make the character slash the sword in that direction. The +Control Pad (or X,Y,A,B Buttons) is used to block attacks. After the attack is blocked, the enemy hesitates, which allows players to make quick stylus strokes to inflict a boat-load of damage. Using the local wireless abilities of the DS, two players can go duel and show off their swordsmanship.
Both versions of the game offer mini-games and bonus material. The DS version is loaded with puzzles and traditional platforming elements that will provide plenty of challenge. For those looking for straight, non-stop action, the Wii version of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End will give your arms a workout equal to rowing a boat on the high seas. There’s plenty of adventure to be had between the two titles, which makes them the perfect compliment to the story on the silver screen.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End will be in shops May 25 for Nintendo DS and Wii."

NintyStuff's Reaction: Pirate games always were fun! And this one looks like it's going to be no exception. Coming onto both DS and Wii, we're looking forward to it!
